Last year HPU added a new sport to their athletics line-up: Acrobatics and Tumbling. The sport replaced HPU’s acclaimed and award-winning cheer program, after the latter was the victim of severe budget cuts following the 2012 season. The A&T team held their first try-outs back in October, and is lead by Head Coach Keenyn Won. The team made their debut at Moanalua High School on February 21st, competing against Azusa Pacific (1-0), and earned their first win on March 16th against Alderson Broaddus in Oregon.
But what exactly is Acrobatics and Tumbling? Watch the video to hear Head Coach Won explain the basics.
