    By Contributing Writers. December 6, 2011 - 5:04 pm

HPU honored the memory of Kameron Steinhoff before the men’s basketball win over Western New Mexico (72-65) at the Neal Blaisdell Center Nov. 25.

Steinhoff died from brain injuries resulting from a skateboarding accident that occurred in May. Steinhoff was a three-year member of the HPU men’s basketball team after starring at Punahou High School.

“Kameron was an outstanding person in many ways, he was a great basketball player but equally important he was a great student at HPU. Most importantly, he was a tremendous teammate and friend to everyone who knew him,” said HPU basketball coach Darren Vorderbruegge.

All ticket revenue went to Kam’s Helmets, HPU’s organization that provides helmets to students.
