The Hawai’i Pacific Women’s Golf Team set a school record in round two of the Dixie State Invitational when the ladies shot a collective 337.

The girls saw great improvement from their first round of the tournament at the Sunbrook Golf Course and were able to cut their strokes down by nine from 346 in round one. Another benchmark the ladies were able to set was that for the first time this year the entire team was able to shoot under 90 individually.

The second round of the tournament saw Susanna Sarkki and Sydney Lee leading the pack for the Sharks, each shooting an 83. Sarkki was able to trim four strokes from her first round score, while Lee made the largest improvement by cutting seven strokes off her first round score.

Carly Farthing continues to be Ms. Consistent for the Sharks this year as she shot an 84 for round two, after an 86 in round one. Farthing tied Sarkki for first overall on the team with a 170 for the tournament.

Corinne Chann shot an 88 in round two after a stellar performance in round one where she shot an 83. Even after Chann’s second round score she was able to post a 171 overall which put her one stroke off the team lead.

Haley Hoag also saw great improvement in round two of the tournament. After shooting a 93 in round one, she was able to salvage a 180 overall by shooting an 87 in round two.

HPU has shown great improvement on this first road trip and now returns home to prepare for its next tournament, the Dennis Rose Invitational (hosted by UH-Hilo) beginning on October 27.
