The Hawai’i Pacific Women’s Golf Team ended their season at the Pacific West Conference Championship hosted by Dixie State. HPU came in sixth place with rounds of 332, 340, and 342 for a total of 1,014.

The Sharks finished ahead of the defending PacWest Champion UH Hilo and Holy Names after placing sixth in all three rounds.

Carly Farthing shot a career-best 74 in the opening round and followed that up with an 85 and 87 for a total 246. She ranked 21st in the 39 player field.

Corinne Chann also started off hot with a 77 in round one and then posted an 86 and 87 for a total 250, good for a top 25 finish.

Sydney Lee got better as the tournament went on with a 96, an 86 and then a 79, leading the team on day three.

Susanna Sarkki saved her best for the middle round shooting an 83, she sandwiched that between a 93 and 92.

Haley Hoag rounded out the Sharks’ attack with a total of 270 (88, 93, 89).

“We set a team scoring record earlier in the year and improved our PacWest scoring average from 87.1 to 84.7. We return players with good experience for next year so the future looks bright,” said Head Coach Jim Utsugi.

California Baptist won the tournament with a three-round total of 900. Dixie State’s Haley Dunn won the individual title in a playoff after shooting a four-over 220.
