BELLINGHAM, WASH (October 13, 2015)—The Hawaii Pacific women’s golf team wrapped up its Pacific Northwest swing with an 11th place finish in the Western Washington Invitational held at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
The Sharks finished the two-day, two-round tournament with a 70-over-par 654—54 strokes behind champion Northeastern (Okla.) State, which carded a 296 in Tuesday’s final round. St. Martin’s (Wash.) came in second (613), while host Western Washington finished third (614). Hawaii Hilo, the only other participant from the 50th State, finished seventh with a 61-over total of 645.
Carly Farthing paced the HPU contingent with a 160 (25th place, +14) via identical rounds of 80 on the par-73, 5,983-yard course. Corinne Chann (31st, 163), Haley Hoag (36th, 164), Kaia Takaki (45th, 167) and Mika Walker (58th, 177) rounded out the Sharks shiver.
HPU returns to the Islands and will tee it up next on Oct. 26-27 for the Dennis Rose Invitational at Waikoloa on the Big Island.
